Visiting Further Up Farm
We love visitors! There are lots of ways to spend time at Further Up Farm. We welcome school groups, family gatherings, volunteers, homeschool co-ops, and more.
A day visit and tour is a great way to get to know Further up Farm. Farm tours generally last about 90 minutes and can be tailored to your group/family’s interest and needs. Farm tours introduce our poultry flock, offer insight into our compost system, explore the gardens and growing systems, and allow plenty of time for questions and side quests. As part of your tour, please plan to bring a picnic and stay a while to play in the creek, wander the meadow, lounge in a hammock, and enjoy this peaceful space.
We offer day and overnight retreats to explore more about homesteading, gardening, composting, and rural living. We also offer collaborative retreats with other experts in their field (yoga, timber framing, pottery, meditation, etc.) in an immersive setting. Various sleeping arrangements are available (tiny house, hammock camping, tent camping, etc).
Folks who want to spend even more time at Further Up Farm might consider a stay through the WWOOF (wwoofusa.com) program, a work exchange where farmers provide housing, meals, and mentorship in exchange for farm labor. You can find our WWOOF profile here, along with reviews of past WWOOFers. WWOOF experiences are a great way to learn more about farming, get to know a farming family, and gain a wide variety of skills.
